Former RANDY PIPER's ANIMAL Guitarist CHRIS LANEY - "If You're Having A Party And Need Some Kick Ass Music, Pure Is The Album"

Swedish guitarist Chris Laney (ex-RANDY PIPER's ANIMAL) spoke recently to Greece's Rockpages about his solo album, Pure. The following is an excerpt:
Q: I will be totally honest with you. Having been raised in the 80s with all these excellent hard rock releases, we don’t have the chance nowadays to listen to really good hard rock albums. In my review, I state that Pure is a true gem! Why do you think we are not treated with really remarkable hard rock albums nowdays?
A: "That is a hard question. First of all I think people THINK too much, they write and play with their brains instead of with their hearts and balls. Secondly, the labels... It is hard to make a "real" record on your home studio equipment... If the labels don't give the artist enough budget to make a decent recording it will not sound like it once did, it is not fair to have a porche with a VW engine, if you know what I mean. People may say they don’t hear the difference... I know they do! A good sounding album you can listen to 20 times back to back, with a flat sound you may be able to listen 5 times. There are so many good bands and artists out there not getting a fair chance to present their songs with a full on production... kind of sucks, doesn’t it?"
Q: In this time and age where we are overflowed with releases, can you tell us a good reason why someone should buy your solo record? What’s so special about it?
A: "If you like a good time, be entertained, buy it. If you are having a party and need some kick ass music, buy it! Seriously, it is a cool album, and why not try something new?"
