department news rock hard

As reported yesterday, Rock Gone Wild, the four-day rock festival scheduled for August 20-23 in Northwood, Iowa has been cancelled. Italian glamsters S.E.X. DEPARTMENT are one of many acts affected by this terrible outcome. They have issued the following statement:

"OK, rock n' roll soldiers, it’s time to start the real fight for rock n' roll. To protect and defend our music. We are sure that the revenge of all of us rock n’ roll vampires or humans is definitely in progress. We are here to recruit everybody who wants support rock n’ roll and the real music, no motherfuckin’ bullshit!!!

What’s happened is one of the biggest crimes against rock n' roll this year.

Was it a fraud still from the beginning? We don’t know. RGW promoters are guilty? We don’t know. We know only that there are thousands of fans who bought tickets, payed flights, hotels, cars or RV rentals.

OK, open slots at festivals are also a little bit expensive. So how much for RGW slots? The prices started with $3,000 - 10,000 plus plane tickets from Europe (we are from Italy, other bands come from Sweden), hotels, air cargo of all stuff, visas for musicians and weeks of hard work. With the big part of money and bureaucracy work helped us our sponsors, label, producer, lawyer, but naturally they want their money back!

We are still waiting for some official news from RGW promoters, we were your partners until yesterday and you haven’t time to write us a short email today? Some months ago we received from you "the great offer" to become an investor . You promised to your "future investors": we will have IRON MAIDEN in the line up!!! We have still all your email and letters. Fuckin' bullshit! We really pray the god of rock n' roll that there wasn't any band to sign with you for this offer!!!

We lose our credit with old collaborators (to hard to found them, to easy to lose them), we sold tickets to our best fans and friends. Is it not enough?

Is it not enough that we sweat our blood everyday for rock n' roll? That we travel around all the world to bring our music to our fans? That we spend last dollar for next album and next album and next album. That we are fighting for every small piece of visibility with the all fuckin’ world of major labels, MTV and radio.

We think, it’s really enough now!!! It’s really enough when your own world, the world of rock n’ roll, starts to work against you - only for fuckin’ shitty dirty money."
