NIGHTSHADE guitarist/vocalist Rick Scythe has checked in with the following update:

"Chuck aka Mr. Faust kicked the entire band out of his garage after the last show. He flipped out basically and has been shit talkin' me personally ever since... yet, I'm not even sure what happened?

Oh well, I'm not mad. It's all rock n' roll. The guy was a great musician and a good friend, but not cut out to be in a band. Being in a band is a lifestyle, it's either in your blood or it isn't. I've been doing this for more than half my life non-stop. If the rigors of playing two shows is too much for someone, I'd rather know now anyway... and yes, I'm an abrasive alpha male, if you're too soft or thin-skinned I WILL hurt your feelings.

Unfortunately our rehearsal spot was at Chuck's house, so the band has been out of commission for a while. Hopefully we'll have a new spot this fall. In the meantime we got started on some recordings and they've sounded awesome, just had not time to finish everything, hopefully next week we will.

So in my downtime I have been writing a LOT of music. Some new Nightshade stuff, and some stuff for a SCYTHE solo album. I am also looking for other musicians to collaborate with for this solo project. I am basically playing everything myself and then will invite some guests for guitar leads, vocals and other things.

I am planning on setting up a demo studio at my new house and started to buy some recording equipment. I still have more to buy, but I figure by mid September I should be ready to record some solo material. So hopefully Nightshade will be rolling again soon. Tim, Dan and Donna have really contributed to make this next release massive!"

Until next time...

-Mr. Scythe

As previously reported, Faust recently contacted BW&BK; with the following statement:

"I'd like to clarify the reasons why I left Nightshade: Can't take time from family for a band that I can't support. Only enough time for graduate-school and family stuff these days. Certainly not interested in wasting the band's time when my interest has died. Any suggestion of leaving because of personal problems is false. I'm doing fine, my friends, things couldn't be better. No reason to worry about my personal well-being. Every band goes through ups and downs."
