THE ROTTED To Headline Resist Form 696 Weekend Festival In October
August 28, 2009, 15 years ago
UK metallers THE ROTTED have issued the following:
"The Rotted will add their support to the ever growing resistance against the introduction of Form 696 by the Metropolitan Police, a risk assessment form which promoters are required to complete prior to the police issuing a license for live music events across the capital.Form 696 is used to gather personal information such as artists names, phone numbers and addresses as well as the potential ethnic make-up of the audience. This information is then used when deciding if to issue a licence for the event, or not as the case may be. Leading supporters of live music and musicians rights such as FEARGAL SHARKEY from the Live Music Forum and Jon McClure, front man of REVEREND AND THE MAKERS have already called for Form 696 to be scrapped, as its seen as potentially racist and a danger to grass roots music.
The Resist Form 696 weekend show will take place at The Grosvenor, Stockwell, SW9 0TP from October 9th - 11th. The Rotted will headline the Metal Night, on Friday, October 9th, with Saturday, October 10th being given over to hardcore/punk acts and Sunday, October 11th will be the acoustic/avantgarde and hip-hop day.
More information on Form 696 can be found at here.

In other news, The Rotted will headline Friday night of the Red Roar Festival at The Red Lion in Gravesend, September 11th before flying straight to Portugal to join BEHEMOTH, DESTRUCTION and NAPALM DEATH at the Chaos Emergente festival in Porto on September 13th."
