TYGERS OF PAN TANG - "Animal Instinct Is An Album We Are Very Proud Of; It’s Already Become An Underground Classic"
September 6, 2009, 15 years ago
Greek webzine Rockpages.gr recently caught up with Robb Weir from TYGERS OF PAN TANG. An excerpt from the interview is available below.
Rockpages.gr: Animal Instinct was released last year. How’s it going so far?
Robb Weir: "Animal Instinct is an album we are very proud of, it’s already become an underground classic although sales have exceeded our own expectations. The album has sold well all over the world and re-established the band with both the fans and the media alike. The reviews we received were unbelievable and we thank everybody who bought the album."
Rockpages.gr: Any news regarding the new album? Ideas, titles, anything?
Robb Weir: "Our management is very keen that we always plan the recordings at least two years in advance so that we have enough time to ensure the product is spot on for the fans. As mentioned we have just recorded five bonus tracks for the re-release of Animal Instinct, which includes a brand new track, 'Don’t say Rock ‘n’ Roll’s Gonna Die', three oldies, 'Raised On Rock', 'Love Potion' and 'Gangland', plus a special song we did for Whitley Bay FC. At the end of the year we will be celebrating the 30th anniversary of Wildcat by releasing an EP, Back2Beyond, which will include another brand new song and four or five songs from Wildcat re-recorded. The EP will be on sale early 2010 via the fan club. We will then start to go into the studio and lay down the tracks of a new album for release May/June 2010. We have a working title for the album Ambush."
