Indie Recordings reports:
Two songs from the forthcoming GOD SEED concert DVD, 'Grinding Teeth' and 'Carving A Giant' can be viewed below. The footage was shot at last year's Wacken Open Air festival in Wacken, Germany and features session players Nick Barker and Ice Dale alongside former GORGOROTH members King (bass; real name Tom Cato Visnes) and Gaahl (vocals; real name Kristian Espedal).
The DVD, which will be via Indie Recordings, will include bonus footage from Hellfest (2009), Inferno (2008), and Horten Fest (2008).
Gaahl recently left God Seed because he chose to retire from metal music.
Commented bassist King: "There is no drama and there is no bad blood between us; Gaahl just wants a break from metal. God Seed will be frozen and I'm prepared to pick it up again when the time is right. Meanwhile, I will focus on other musical projects."
Gaahl and King lost a court battle in early 2009 against guitaristInfernus (real name: Roger Tiegs) over the rights to the Gorgoroth band name.
King recently stated about his band's decision to use the name God Seed, "It's actually strange because there's lots of excitement, of course, around it. Because we are starting a new era and changing the name, there's a big symbolic value in doing that — but at the same time it's strange because we've worked under the Gorgoroth banner for so many years. Since dramatically nothing is changing on our part, it's the same thing, me and Gaahl making music and working, so the same things are happening behind the scenes. It's just that we are not using the Gorgoroth name anymore."
Further updates to follow.
