France's PUNISH YOURSELF will release their new album, Pink Panther Party, on October 19th via Season Of Mist.
A taste of the new album can be heard now, the track 'Zmeya' is available for download at this location.
"'Zmeya' means 'snake' in Russian", frontman Vx comments. "It's a quite obvious reference to Russian politics, treated in a humorous and apocalyptic way, with lyrics such as "I'm the son of the red star I'm a supertzar" or "you can't get out - join my federation now". With this song, Punish Yourself tries to go against the bad habit most "industrial" bands seem to have developed since the 90's - mindless continuous US-bashing. Musically, the song is fast yet very bouncy, celebrating the collision of mutated cyber-blues, epic choral samples and slavonic electric violin (played by Ninon "Ecstatickillher", who is also a member of my side-project CHEERLEADER 69), a mix you sure weren't prepared for. Kalashnikow!"A video trailer for Pink Panther Party can be viewed below.
The album will feature the following tracklisting:
'...Than A Thousand Suns'
'Shiva Only Is God'
'End Of The Western World'
'(My Name Is) Legion'
'A Russian Lullaby'
'Zmeya'
'Born In Thorns / Torn To Pieces'
'Deadmeatpetroleum'
'This Is My Body, This Is My Gasoline'
'Satan Buddies'
