SARAH JEZEBEL DEVA, who has contributed vocals to CRADLE OF FILTH, COVENANT, THERION, MORTIIS and ANGTORIA among others, has issued the following update:

"Before I go into the 'A Sign Of Sublime' video shoot, I wanted to thank EVERYONE who has made the music, the video and the whole experience possible for me. Without ALL who were/are involved, I wouldn't have got this far or had so much fun! I have always hated how press seem to give all the attention to the lead singer and seem to dismiss the rest of the band, as if they do not exist. I have always believed the singer is the least important part of the band and I have always felt the lead singer does the least work (and for the best part it IS very true!) What ever you want to call this project, I have always aimed for everyone to be equal in this and not just one person getting all the attention.

My point is check out ALL the people involved in this because THEY made this all come together for me, I am only 20% of this, the others involved are my back bone!

Ken and I leave my home to pick up Dave on the Friday evening. The aim is to just get to the recording studio (where the video is being shot) the night before so we can just chill out. Max and his dad Martin will also arrive Friday evening as they are driving up from Bath. Unfortunately, Martin Powel couldnt make the video, which I am sad about seeing as his did the keys for the track. But I understand his uni work must come first as he has three more years to go before he becomes a Doctor in music.

When we arrive to the studio, we are greeted by a band called Abaddon. (I have probably spelt that wrong) It's not long before they are displaying bright colours from their arse! Yep, NOT shy these guys, within about 15 minutes they are lighting their farts. In fact, they don't stop, they are at it all night! If you want a cheap fire works display this bonefire night, I believe you can hire them out for a case of beer and a hand job or two! They made the evening for me and I do hope they go far (They were in the process of recording their first album) as they are a great bunch of lads! Thanks for the hang over guys ;)

Max and Martin finally arrive about 11pm. After hearing stories of the girl who hung herself in the house, Max is reluctant to go to bed alone. (Bender) Max and Martin were up til about 4am, I assume they were also drinking and lighting farts! I shared a room with Dave and all I heard was him snoring, in fact at one point, I sneezed and I thought it had caused Dave's heart to stop in his sleep, don't ask me why, I was slightly pissed! I was paranoid for a few minutes as he went completely silent and I just layed there waiting for him to snore! I mean, if he had kicked the bucket in his sleep, who would play bass the next day in the video! ;)

Saturday morning I wake up with a hangover at 8am. To be honest I am very nervous about the video because you have no way of knowing how it will turn out.

The film crew and Adrian (recording studio hand) arrive at 9am (selfish gits for being early!). They had been traveling since about 6am and it was going to be a very long day for them. The video was being set mostly in stables. They were done out to look tatty and old. We kept ALL the lovely spiders in and the spider webs (There were some HUGE spiders in there!) The only thing that really went wrong was the fact the big strobe machine didn't work and the small ones didn't do much else. So we lost that effect really. Our smoke machine was also a bit gay but did have a good effect when we shot the final scenes of me walking down the path.

We start shooting about 12 noon. Max first. I know he is nervous but he drummed so well, he really went for it! At one point he looked like Lion O from Thunder Cats! I mostly stayed out of the way because I knew he didn't want to be watched constantly. While Dave and Ken were doing their make up, Martin was next up. He played our dirty old man! And damn he did an amazing job. He didnt care about getting dirty (he was rolling around in the ploughed field and I am sure there was plenty of horse crap in there). Of course I am not going to go into much because A) I don't want to give much away and B) It really is all in the edit. I have this plan in my head how I wanted the video to be but who knows!

Next up is Dave... he looks like he just came out of SATYRICON and seriously, he looked completely shaggable! If I was a guy, I would have wacked one out in his face! Sorry Dave! Haha... Have no idea how well Dave and Ken played to be honest because I wanted to leave them to it. I do not dictate and as far as I am concerned, while they are recording or being filmed, it's their product! They are free to do what they want, so I didnt want to be in the way.

Next up, about 4pm, was me. I start with just sitting in the chair, singing to the camera. When you do a video, it's normal for each person to be filmed three or four times. This video is not a full band shot, as in, we all play individually, we cannot be seen all bunched together, I just wanted to try and do something different.

A Sign Of Sublime, which is the name of the album and the video/single is based of sex, on fantasy. The aim is to have a censored AND uncensored version. There is nothing too bad but of course it's all about the visual content that wouldn't be suitable for younger kids as it's about the power of suggestion.

So I haven't given much away. Sorry it wasn't overly entertaining, it was just a long hard day in the sun but was totally worth the 10 hrs of shooting.

The album is due to be mixed next month. The pre-order will be up soon, so will the link for t-shirts. The limited edition digi will contain the (hopefully) uncensored video and you will not see the video anywhere else. Obviously the censored video will be the one that gets air play!

That's it guys... Thanks for taking an interest! xxxx"
