STEVIE SALAS To Receive Lifetime Achievement Awards And Perform At Eleventh Annual Native American Music Awards
September 30, 2009, 15 years ago
Guitarist Stevie Salas has issued the following update:
"Just back from Europe and rocking again with my brother Bernard Fowler. Things were just like always in the NICKLEBAG days full of madness and muscle, but this time with the added adventure they call Dave Abbruzzese!!Dave has been recording with me since his PEARL JAM days but would never go on tour. But we got his ass out there this time and the kids went crazy! Why pearl jam ever got rid of him I will never know. So what if he is a little out of his mind....aren't we all???
We have tons more dates coming in Europe in Februay so stay tuned.
Yesterday in LA we had our meetings at 19 ent home of American Idol and I got to hear some AWESOME new tracks by idols Kris, Adam and Allison. These records sound fantastic and will blow minds very soon (also saw the Daughtry boys in the office and they all had a pep in there step, lookin' good).
Today in LA, I will start looking at tons of players for some BIG stuff coming up in November, so if you're coming to play bring your 'A' game only. Friday I will fly to Niagra Falls to the NAMMY's (Native American Music Awards) where I will be honored with a lifetime achievement award! This is such an honor for me but I must be gettin' old!! I still got a lot of lifetime left in me I hope!
Well, perhaps I can win another one in 20 more years if I keep kickin ass! I will also jam a couple songs at the awards with my boys TM Stevens on bass and Dave Abbruzzese on drums. Hope to see ya all there."
Cheers my dears."
