According to the Liverpool Echo, former DEEP PURPLE keyboard legend JON LORD has joined forces with the ROYAL LIVERPOOL PHILHARMONIC to record a new CD of classical music. They record that this is the the fourth time that Jon has worked with the RLPO, following their collaboration with the Durham Concerto in 2007.

"These latest pieces, recorded at the Friary in Everton, were inspired by close friend, writer John Mortimer, who died in January 2009. Mr Lord said: 'I think I’m connected by some kind of musical umbilical cord. This is the most generous hearted orchestra'."
