THE ANSWER is currently on tour in The US, opening for AC/DC. Guitarist Paul Mahon has issued the following update from the road:

"We are having a day off in Jacksonville, another day off another carpark! Though I'm goin' to get out to Guitar Centre and check out some guitars and gear. The tour has been going well. After America's version of Sheffield we went to Philly to play the old Spectrum, we'd played there before and the crowd were awesome as usual.Then it was the long drive south to Atlanta.We played the Arena on Friday night with AC/DC, the crowd were great. They gave us a reception as if we were headlining, which is saying something when it's an AC/DC show.

On Saturday we had our own show in the Hard Rock Cafe, it proved rock 'n' roll is still alive and kicking in the south. Local bands Saturn 5 and the guitar playing of Marty Manus impressed. Without missing a beat we drove through the night to Greensboro to play with AC/DC, again the crowd were amazing. As it was Sunday, we had the added interest of who would win the AC/DC football pool. Every week the crew runs a football pool, you pick the winners etc, Anyway I had picked them all and it came down to Arizona and New York. You would think Giants at home is a pretty safe bet, but no, not even that great catch from Boss could set up a winning drive. So I didn't get my $1000!

Our next stop on the tour was New Orleans. It was the first time any of us had been there and it's definitely a city worth visiting, unlike anywhere else in The States. Again we were parked up in a WalMart carpark. This may sound boring or tedious but there is a multitude of things to do especially if its a super WalMart! We had a good look round the city and did the ghost tour and saw where Nicolas Cage bought a house and it gave him the heebeegeebees so he's trying to sell it at half the price! The food in New Orleans is amazing too, as my survival on the road has made me leave veganism and vegetarianism behind somewhat, I still won't go near chicken or any red meat but have allowed fish into my diet. I now get to enjoy some local delicacies and the shrimp creole is amazing!

We had the show on Wednesday and the New Orleans crowd lived up to those of other southern states. Before the show we got to meet Pepper Keenan (DOWN) and Sean from WHITE ZOMBIE which was cool. After the show, Brian Johnson and Cliff Williams came into the dressing room for a few drinks and Brian recounted some of the stories from his new book in his own inimitable style! Our new buddy and famous author from Belfast, Stephen Rea, took us out on the town and we went drinking at The Bulldog, then legged it back to the bus and started driving to Jacksonville.
