Coolhead Productions, the people behind the forthcoming SAXON documentary, Heavy Metal Thunder - The Movie, have canvassed those that pre-ordered the film, since more vintage footage has suddenly been unearthed. The following e-mail relates possible inclusions, yet will send the production into overtime (beyond the original planned release date), thus they wish to do right by the fans who've already put their money where their mouths are:

"We’ve uncovered some great unseen footage of Saxon back in the early days, and we’re currently working out deals to make sure we can legally use it. We’ve also finally tracked down Pete Gill and we’re trying to persuade him to do an interview. We’ve talked through the options with Biff, Thomas Jensen (Saxon’s manager) and the others involved in the film. It seems there are two options: 1) We can either rush the film and leave out any contribution from Pete and this unseen footage (not only are the licensing deals expensive but they’re also time-consuming) and aim for the release date before Christmas. Considering the impending postal strikes here in the UK we might not make that date anyway. 2) Or we can finalise those footage deals, fix a date to interview Pete, and put back the release date of the film into next year (probably February). You are all Associate Producers of this film so you all get a say in what we do. As producer, my vote goes with making this as good as we possibly can and putting back the release. Biff agrees, as does Thomas. Then again, we haven’t ordered it as a Christmas present for someone. Send us your thoughts (but keep them short, if you can!) on this subject. We need to make a final decision by Monday, November 9th.
