ANGER AS ART bassist Angelo Espino is featured in a new interview on MySpace. An excerpt is available below:

Q: You seem to downplay your history in the metal movement – yet you have a large body of work to show for your effort. Can you give a recap – from the days of VERMIN, through UNCLE SLAM, REVEREND, HIRAX and ONCE DEAD…

Espino: "Wow, I’m a little flattered by that statement. I’m just a fan of metal. It’s what I love, it’s who I am. If I impacted anyone’s life or helped mold a genre then bad ass! OK, a little Angelo Espino history lesson. I actually played in Metal Blade Records PREDATOR from 1986 – 1987. After that I was recruited by founder and guitarist, Greg Cekalovich, to join LSN. We had been friends for years and I was a huge fan of Vermin and always wanted to be in a band with him. From there it was on to Uncle Slam. I answered an ad in Recycler Magazine for bassist wanted. Who knew it would be for one of the greatest cross over punk/thrash bands ever. I thoroughly enjoyed being in Uncle Slam. In 1990, long time friend and guitarist Brian Korbin called me to say Reverend was auditioning bass players and he wondered if I was interested in coming down. I was still in Uncle Slam at the time and really wasn’t into auditioning but did anyway and got the gig. I hated leaving Uncle Slam but it all worked out in the end. From there, it was a few unsigned projects then a five year hiatus. In 2003, Glen Rogers called me and said Hirax was looking for a bassist. I told him it had been five years since I even looked at a bass and declined his offer. I was WAY out of practice. Well Glenn was persistent and sent me a CD anyway to learn some songs. Next thing you know I was in Hirax."
