Victoriandustrial violinist / vocalist Emilie Autumn has issued the following announcement:

"In celebration of the success and extension of EA's North American Fall 2009 Tour, The Asylum would like to announce. The Asylum Army North American Tour Part 2 YouTube contest! Forum details are here .

Purpose: To spread the Plague for the second leg of the tour using video. Plague rats would be encouraged to use a video camera and YouTube as a means of showing off their love/fandom/everything in between for the Asylum, its inhabitants and of course, Emilie... SO LONG AS IT'S LEGAL!

Show off your cover songs; document your Plague spreading activities; or just express what the Asylum means to you. The only limit (other than the aforementioned need for things to be legal) is your imagination. But, what good is a contest with out a prize, right my darling lovelies?

Prize: A copy of Opheliac Deluxe (2009) and a special Asylum trinket.

Eligibility: US tour related shows only, as shown in the list at the bottom

And, what is a contest without rules?

Rules:

Step 1: Make a video.

Step 2: Upload your video to YouTube.

Step 3: Post a link to your video in the contest thread of the Asylum Army section.

... and the most important step of all:

Step 4: Spread that video like wildfire!

Add it to all your favorite social networking sites (Facebook, MySpace, Twitter and all the rest), your blogs, your websites. Hell... email it to everyone in your contacts list and IM it to your buddies with the goal of getting as many views as possible! At the end of the contest period, the winner will be decided by a combination of places posted and creativity.

And lastly, the fine print: ALL videos/entries MUST include a plug of some sort to Emilie and the North American tour (e.g. a link to purchase tickets, venue info, etc.) Obviously, if you uploaded a video of yourself playing 'Dead Is The New Alive' on a kazoo without explaining why, you'd look mighty foolish don't you think? And we doubt that would sell many tickets either. Only ONE video per inmate. Lastly, remember: THIS IS A PLAGUE SPREADING MISSION FOR THE ASYLUM ARMY! Conduct yourselves in a manner that will reflect positively on EA and The Asylum.

Hint: The song 'Liar' is the single being promoted and asked to be requested to your local radio station.

Deadline: December 8th at 11:59 PM US Central Time, the final date of the NA tour. So, you have your orders... now get to it!
