29 years ago today, one of the most important and influential rock bands in the world announced they were calling it quits. The members of LED ZEPPELIN were still shaken up by the death of drummer John Bonham, and shared the news with the world in a brief statement: "We wish it to be known that the loss of our dear friend, and the deep sense of undivided harmony felt by ourselves and our manager, have led us to decide that we could not continue as we were."
