HELIX - New Album Selling Well In Canada And Sweden, Official Fanclub In The Works
December 6, 2009, 14 years ago
HELIX frontman Brian Vollmer has checked in with an update on new album, Vagabond Bones, and information on plans to start an official Helix fanclub:
"Vagabond Bones continues to sell extremely well in Canada. This week I talked to Tom Mathers of Perris Records (who distributes us in the States and Europe) and he told me that the CD is also selling very well in Sweden. This is not at all surprising as we had a Number One album there-1985’s Long Way to Heaven. Joel Baskin (our agent in Europe) is also looking for summer festival dates there, particularly Sweden Rock Festival, so if you’re a Swedish fan make sure to tell ‘em you want to see/hear Helix at this year’s festival!
One of the things I would like to accomplish this year is a fan club. Whenever/wherever the band is playing I send out personal emails to alert fans, but lately it has become overwhelming to try to keep up with this. On one hand, that’s good news because 'busy' means 'in demand'. However, there’s only so much of me to go around, so I need some help. I have a few ideas as to whom I would like in each province to be the 'provincial rep', and will be contacting those persons and accepting applications over the next month. It’s a strictly 'do it for the love of it job, but it does have its perks, one of which is getting on the guest list whenever the band comes to town. The other is to be eligible to win swag and other prizes whenever the band runs a promotion.
