IRON MAIDEN, MEGADETH, ALICE IN CHAINS Material To Be Made Available Via Vevo

According to Usatoday.com, EMI joined Universal Music and Sony Music on Monday as a backer of Vevo, the online music video service to be launched on Tuesday. The announcement leaves Warner Music as the only major record company that isn’t part of the joint venture that aims to turn videos into a lucrative ad-supported business.
Warner has its own plan to sell ads on videos on performers’ websites and elsewhere.
EMI’s roster includes IRON MAIDEN, MEGADETH, QUEEN, ALICE IN CHAINS, WHITESNAKE, DEVIN TOWNSEND PROJECT, JETHRO TULL among others.
But the company has struggled financially since investor Guy Hands’ Terra Firma Partners bought it in 2007 at the height of the bubble in private equity investment.
EMI did not disclose terms of the arrangement with Vevo.
