The festive season is upon us and BraveWords.com has approached a number of our favourite metalheads to find out how they celebrate and deal with onslaught of the holidays when they aren't plundering and pillaging the planet! Check out today's trio below:

Leif Edling (CANDLEMASS)

What do the holidays mean for you? Do anything special?

"It means pretty much that you have more ketchup on the macaronies to make it all more red and Christmassy. If you survive the first weekend without killing yourself, you normally party your head off the coming week + New Year. In January I usually have a white month. January is boring."

In a perfect world, if you got to play Santa, what would you deliver and to whom?

"If I was to play Santa I would give myself a plane ticket to the US in January to go and see Pentagram play Philly and N.Y. Can’t afford it myself. Working like a dog on the new C-mass dvd right now. Hopefully it can be out early spring."

What's on your 'wish list' this year?

"Happiness. I know it’s a lot to ask for, but I say it every year. Well….maybe someday…"

Nils K. Rue (PAGAN’S MIND)

What do the holidays mean for you?

“Christmas means some time off and travel to my parents’ ranch on the countryside in Norway for the holiday, just to be with my family and relax. To talk and hang out with my mother, who is a very intelligent and inspiring human being. It’s something that charges my batteries for the coming year. She is definitely an inspiring source for everything I try to do creatively. So yeah, Christmas is nice.”

In a perfect world, if you got to play Santa, what would you deliver and to whom?

“I would put our bass player Steinar in the position as the world’s most powerful person, as president for the USA for instance. He would bring peace to the world immediately and make every living creature beer-drinking, relaxed and balanced beings. He is a character to look up to when it comes in terms of treating each other with love and respect. Just don’t steal his beer!”

What's on your 'wish list' this year?

“Apart from world domination, an alien aircraft and other stuff which I unfortunately can’t get, I would say a new Shure or Sennheiser wireless microphone system, a Neumann studio microphone, and a complete overhaulin´ of my Mercedes 560 SEC including Boyd Coddington wheels and a jet black paintjob.”

What do the holidays mean for you? Do anything special?

“Ah. I could bullshit ya and give you the trite, happy answer that everybody else gives, but let me be honest: the holidays are great for the kids. It's cool that you get to see family and spend time together but all of that shopping and gift wrapping and Christmas music is an ass-whip. It all seems so commercialized and far removed from what I think the orginal intention or spirit of the occasion was supposed to be or commemorate, but life is like that. Not trying to sound cynical, but ultimately, I'd say any circumstance that allows people time off to be with their families is a positive thing in my book.”

In a perfect world, if you got to play Santa, what would you deliver and to whom?

“I'd deliver myself and my girlfriend to some place warm and tropical with a beach for the rest of the winter!”

What's on your "wish list" this year?

“No wishes for me. I'm too busy making shit happen...but a huge Monopoly bank error in my favor would be nice!”
