DEEP PURPLE Guitarist Steve Morse Featured On New ANGELFIRE Project; New Release Date Revealed
December 13, 2009, 15 years ago
As previously reported by the DEEP PURPLE Appreciation Society, Deep Purple guitarist Steve Morse has been working with US-based singer Sarah Spencer (www.myspace.com/sarahspencersings) on a project called ANGELFIRE.
Morse previously commented: "It's kind of acoustic stuff that I wrote with this girl singer (Sarah Spencer) that is so good. I knew her parents and they said, 'you've got to hear my daughter.' I heard her, and she was really pretty good. So I listened to more stuff, and I said bring her over and let's see if we can write something together. We did, and that first take, just nailed it."
Angelfire will be released in early 2010 via Radiant Records. The album also features Van Romaine on drums/percussion and Dave La Rue on bass.
Angelfire will open for the Steve Morse Band on their West Coast tour in January. The Angelfire band's line-up will be Steve Morse (guitars), Sarah Spencer (vocals) and Bill Evans (keyboards, bass).
