#16 - CANNIBAL CORPSE – Evisceration Plague (Metal Blade)

Tampa, FL’s godfathers of death metal released their new album, Evisceration Plague, on February 3rd and for the third time in the band’s career they landed on the Billboard Top 200 Chart. Evisceration Plague debuted on the Billboard Top 200 Albums Chart at #66 - huge for a death metal band! Cannibal Corpse also achieved their highest chart entry ever in Germany at #42.

Bassist Alex Webster commented: "We are blown away by the amazing response to our new album Evisceration Plague. The chart positions that have been reported for this album are well beyond our expectations and the response from both critics and fans has been overwhelmingly positive. Evisceration Plague was recorded at Mana Recording Studios with producer Erik Rutan (HATE ETERNAL leader who also produced Kill) at the helm.

To coincide with Evisceration Plague, Cannibal Corpse also issued a limited-edition 96-page comic book. Drawn entirely by Vince Locke, who illustrated the acclaimed graphic novel A History of Violence and each of the band's album covers, the Evisceration Plague comic graphically depicted a story for every song on the band's album of the same name - arranged in order, no less.

“Vince Locke has done an incredible job turning our lyrics into blood-soaked and vicious illustrations for the Evisceration Plague comic book. He really has captured visually what we were trying convey lyrically. His artwork has brought our macabre songs to life in truly explicit fashion...fans of graphic horror will not be disappointed,” commented Webster.
