Decibel Magazine has issued an interview with bassist/vocalist Erik Danielsson of Swedish black metallers WATAIN. The following is an excerpt:

Q: Will you be recording the new album at Necromorbus?

A: "Yes, on the 3rd of January we’ll be entering Necromorbus again, for the fifth time. I’d hate to come to a new studio and have to adapt to a new environment and a new producer. Necromorbus feels as much like home as our rehearsal-place does. We are free to do what we want there and that is important as we always lock ourselves up in the studio during the recordings. Album recordings are holy to us, and that usually means rather chaotic and eventful days and nights of blood, fire and death."

In other Watain news, as previously reported, next year's edition of the Sweden Rock Festival is set to take place June 9th - 12th in Sölvesborg, and Watain have been confirmed for the festival.

Organizers previously confirmed that the band "promise a special tribute to the most revered and important black metal-act of all time: BATHORY."

In an update, Watain states, "Watain has been confirmed to headline one of the nights at Sweden Rock Festivals Sweden Stage, the second weekend of June 2010.

The performance will be a special one indeed. The first half of the 90 minute set will be devoted to the new album, that is scheduled for release some days before the festival.

The second half of the set will be something that has never been done before on Swedish soil, namely a monumental tribute to the kings of Swedish Black Metal, Bathory. June 2010 will mark the 5 year anniversary of Quorthon's death, and Watain takes pride in honoring a legend that has not only influenced the band immensely, but also contributed to the abominable foundation of all black and death metal.

So in the midst of glam fags like RATT's desperate attempts to maintain a "good festival atmosphere", the black wolves of lawless fire shall gather to feast! For this will be a lesson in true black metal madness; as it was, as it is, and as it ever will be. Blood, Fire, Death!"

Acts on the Sweden Rock 2010 bill include: ALDO NOVA, ANVIL, BACHMAN & TURNER, BIGELF, D-A-D, DANZIG, JORN, MAGNUM, MOTHER'S FINEST, NAZARETH, RATT, RAVEN, RICK SPRINGFIELD, SABATON, SAGA, UNISONIC, W.A.S.P., WATAIN, Y&T.;
