The House Of Hair With DEE SNIDER Announces AGE OF EVIL Prize Package Contest
January 5, 2010, 14 years ago
The House Of Hair With DEE SNIDER reports:
It seems like whenever a rock or metal band comprised of still-school-attending teenagers hits the scene, it’s easy to simply write them off as a gimmick. This certainly is not the case with the Scottsdale, Arizona-based AGE OF EVIL, who easily keep pace with the big boys on their latest release, the six-track EP, Get Dead. Picture vintage crushing thrash metal with sweeping IRON MAIDEN-esque guitar harmonies, and you’re not far off from what the group (which is comprised of two brother teams) – singer/rhythm guitarist Jeremy Goldberg (age 19), lead guitarist Jordan Ziff (18), bassist Jacob Goldberg (18), and drummer Garrett Ziff (20) – specialize in.
“We are so fortunate for our band to consist of two sets of brothers,” explains Jeremy. “But anyone who knows us will tell you that it’s really four brothers. The band would be completely different if we were all separate dudes and I think it is safe to say that Age of Evil would not be Age of Evil with anyone missing.” And according to Jordan, the idea of forming Age of Evil was a long time in the making. “We’ve all known each other since we were very little, and we always wanted to be in a band together.”If you’re looking for a total ass-kicker of a recording, Get Dead wastes little time, as such ragers as 'Cruel Intentions' and the title track, 'Get Dead', quickly prove. Add to it spot-on covers of SKID ROW’s 'Slave To The Grind' and Judas Priest’s 'Electric Eye', plus two live tracks ('Eye For An Eye' and 'Glimpse Of Light'), and you’ll understand why ex-MEGADETH guitarist Marty Friedman has praised the band, saying “They have the ‘new/old school’ sound down to a science and have considerably upped the ante for metal of the future.”
With ‘Get Dead’ hot off the press, Jacob gives a hint as to what the group’s future plans are – “Complete world domination and intergalactic domination once we find some damn aliens.”
Here’s your chance to win a copy of the Get Dead EP – signed by all 4 band members. Every CD comes with an Age Of Evil boxer or thong (!) and a logo bandana! And one Grand Prize Winner also gets an awesome Fender/Jackson guitar, signed by the band!!!

The fast-rising heavy metal band Age Of Evil will be supporting the first-ever US shows for HAIL! - which is comprised of such renowned
names as Tim Ripper Owens (singer, ex-JUDAS PRIEST, Andreas Kisser (guitarist, SEPULTURA), Dave Ellefson (bass, F5/ex-Megadeth), and Mike Portnoy (drums, DREAM THEATER).

“We will tear your faces off,” declares AOE guitarist Jordan Ziff about the group’s kick-ass live show. “And if not, it’s a money back guarantee. Just kidding. But we give 150% every night we play. We are trying to rejuvenate good music into the metal scene and a certain rawness that everyone has seemed to have lost. You need to put your soul into your music.”The Scottsdale, Arizona-based Age of Evil, which in addition to Ziff, is comprised of singer/rhythm guitarist Jeremy Goldberg, bassist Jacob
Goldberg, and drummer Garrett Ziff, is riding high on wide spread acclaim for their recent release, the six-track EP, Get Dead.
"Thanks to young Arizona rockers Age of Evil, the sounds of vintage metal are alive and well as we kick off the second decade of the 21st Century," raves Andy Secher, Editor for Hit Parader Magazine.
And if that wasn’t enough acclaim, "Metal" Tim Henderson from BraveWords.com adds, "Youth Gone Wild! These school-yard bruisers are turning heads and taking vintage thrash to a new era of combat.”
Additionally, Revolver Magazine picked Age of Evil as a 'Band to Watch" in 2010, and Get Dead was recently deemed a “New & Noteworthy Release” for four weeks straight on iTunes.
