DEVILDRIVER bassist Jon Miller checks in with the following message:
"Hi y'all. I'm sitting in a La Quinta Inn in Lincoln, Nebraska.Me and (drummer, John) Boecklin just wrote a sick song for the 5th DevilDriver record. We bought these little Line 6 Spider practice amps to take wherever we go when we have downtime so that we can constantly be writing.
We seem to write better in pairs instea of by ourselves. The ideas flow a lot faster. We just ordered Chinese food and then it's back to work!!!!! We are playing Maplewood, Minnesota tomorrow. See ya there!"
DevilDriver guitarist Mike Spreitzer previously issued the following update:
"It feels so good to be on a full-on metal tour again in the States. Our second tour with THY WILL BE DONE and our first with SUFFOCATION and GOATWHORE. All excellent bands and a shit load of fun to get drunk with. All the shows have been amazing. Last night we played the Gothic Theater in Englewood, CO just outside of Denver. We had a great show and made our way to a club that a friend of ours works at (which means free drinks!!!!) I'm not sure what the theme of the night was at the club but I have never seen so many transvestites in one place. (Not that there is anything wrong with that!!!!)"Guitarist Jeff Kendrick states: "Into the second week of our Bound By The Road tour (2010) edition and it is going fucking fantastic! First of all, I want to wish everyone a Happy New Year! I hope everyone is off to a great start of the year and I wish everyone a bright and prosperous 2010!
So anyways, back to the tour. We are currently rolling into Lincoln, Nebraska for a day off and hoping to catch a film or some great food. Thy Will Be Done, Goatwhore and especially the legendary Suffocation are really showing themselves to be a great choice for this leg of our tour. Everyone is super nice and bringing the ruckus on and off stage. Attendance has been great and we are having a blast!
I wanted to let everyone also know that I am going to be blogging occasionally on a website called www.geekweek.com it is a site covering video games, movies and many more things that everyone loves. Looking forward to seeing you all on the rest of the tour and don't worry, the writing for the next record is coming along splendidly."
Stay tuned for further updates.
