THOSE WHO LIE BENEATH - Metal Blade Records To Release New Album In Europe

Portland, OR is native to several hardcore and metal acts, but none quite like newly discovered THOSE WHO LIE BENEATH. Their recently released debut album An Awakening is a searing frontal lobe assault on the senses according to a press release.
Wide eyes that deservedly satisfy the bands image; "What we're trying to do is be not only as brutal as we can but as evil, man," says singer Jamie Hanks.
Metal Blade Records will release An Awakening as a license from Rise Records in Europe. “It's hard to find words to describe our sentiment toward our new affiliation with Metal Blade Records," says guitarist Kyle Rasmussen. "It goes without saying that it is any Metal musician's dream to be associated, and in any way included in the Metal Blade legacy. This is a label that has played such an immense role in the exposure and birth of the extreme music culture, starting in a time where there was no financial incentive or guarantee, just heart, and an unadulterated love for aggressive music. They have been nurturing heavy music for twenty-seven years, and over those years have sling-shotted some of the most influential bands in heavy music into the eye of the public. As a Metal fan, before being a Metal musician, I personally owe so much to Metal Blade. If it weren't for them, I may have never heard of Cannibal Corpse, The Crown, or fucking Slayer, bands that have changed my life and made me the musician that I am today. Slayer, people, Slayer. With that said, we are elated, and in the true sense of the word, honored to be a part of this cultural titan that has provided us with inspiration and influence over the years, and after twenty-seven years, I don't see it stopping any time soon.”
