ROCK STAR, SUPER STAR Project - Rally Planned To Protest Refusal Of Chicago’s Loop 97.9 To Show Support For US Heroes

Twin musicians from Chicago who have updated the national anthem with a rock ‘n roll spin got a rude awakening when the station refused to play the song despite staff approval, apparently out of concern that it is too patriotic.
'National Anthem 2.0', included on the brother’s upcoming Serenity album, is a tribute to the country's military, police, firefighters and their families, and has just been released as a music video (see below).
The song has garnered interest from the US Army and received positive reviews from the station’s internal staff. With fresh lyrics and a new rock ‘n roll melody designed to appeal to both younger and older generations, it features Kris 'Super Star' Kancler and his twin brother Marc ('Rock Star') plus an all-star lineup of performers from the band TRANS-SIBERIAN ORCHESTRA.
The Serenity CD is a project of the brothers’ We Are One Foundation, a non-profit organization aimed at raising awareness of burgeoning drug and alcohol use among high school students.
“Our goal with the CD is to send a strong message that living a life without drugs and alcohol is the only way to achieve your dreams,” said Super Star. “But after we recorded the 'National Anthem 2.0' track, we realized that this song speaks to every American, with or without an addiction. It expresses precisely what we all need to do: stand up for America. Those lyrics are in the song, and the Loop clearly is failing to respond to the call.”The Star twins are organizing a rally that will include parents of local soldiers to protest the station managers' decision and demand that the Loop play the song. The date and location of the rally will be announced shortly.
