After twenty years, French band(s) S.U.P (avantgarde metal), which stands for SPHERICAL UNIT PROVIDED, the "sister project" of SUPURATION members since 1995, have announced the opening of its official website. The site, not complete as of now in terms of contents, can be reached at www.sphericalunitprovided.fr.

A press release provides some background:

Supuration started back in 1995 and released several successful EPs until 1993 when they released their debut album, The Cube that since then stays as a true (and we mean TRUE) collector item among original death metal fans worldwide. After that album, Supuration released a MCD, titled Still In The Sphere and changed name and direction.

The band then was to be called S.U.P and played a less death metal kind of music, focusing on even more atmospheres and less aggressiveness. Yet, their style still as original as on their debut, brought them a broadened audience. They released five studio albums (Anomaly in 1995, Room Seven in 1997, Chronophobia in 1999, Anomaly 2000 in 2000, and Angelus in 2002) as well as a live CD / DVD (To Live Alone in 2001) all released through France's Holy records (with the exception of 1995's Anomaly, released by PIAS).

In 2003, they decided to re-activate Supuration along S.U.P and released the band's second album to date: Incubation (Holy Records). Since then, both bands coexist.

S.U.P released two more albums, Imago (2005, Holy Records) and Hegemony (2008, Holy Records) and a live DVD (Traces; Part One, 2007, Metaluna Productions).

The band is now in writing mode for the third Supuration studio album and the eighth S.U.P one, both to be released this year, along with a new DVD titled Traces: Part Two.
