British metalheads THE DEFILED have been confirmed as the opening act for Roadrunner signings DELAIN’s upcoming London show on March 21st at Relentless Garage.

After a hugely successful 2009, which saw the band tour with the likes of DEATHSTARS, STATIC-X and SONIC SYNDICATE, as well as appearances at HAMMERFEST and SONISPHERE festivals, the band had a slow start to the year after bassist Drex Exel suffered a nasty injury. The four stringer explains:

“Due to the breakage of my hand whilst partaking in an unspecified act of recklessness that I’m not going to incriminate myself to in print, its great to finally be back committing to gigs again after what seems like an eternity (OK so its only been a couple of months but it seems a lot longer). Rest assured this time hasn’t been wasted however as we’ve been furiously working on a load of new material for our debut album which we’re hoping to get out by the end of the year.

As our first gig of 2010 it’s a pleasure to be supporting Roadrunner Records newbies Delain on home soil at the Highbury Garage and with our local boozer positioned right up the road from the venue the drinking will surely continue into the early hours thereafter! So dust off your party frocks, put on your dancing shoes and come and join us on our first venture into the new decade.”
