hot flashes news as we fight

Danish metallers AS WE FIGHT have issued the following update:

"You might ask yourself; are the boys in As We Fight working hard or are they hardly working? And it’s a fair question. With (vocalist) Jesper (Vicencio Gün) handing in his resignation in early September last year, one might think that this must be the end of it (read official statement below). But what seemed as lethal dose turned out to be pure EPO. We played a handful for killer shows as a quintet and it felt great and gave us the confidence to continue as a five piece.

So right now we’re working hard on new rocking material with the tentative project title Rockcore. Hopefully we’ll be ready for a late spring release, but we won’t just dash some mediocre metal off. We’re going to take the time needed for this material to be just the way we want it. And we will definitely try to keep everyone up to date on the process with news post, video clips, diaries etc., but please help us out by keeping an eye on our (almost) brand new Twitter page: twitter.com/aswefightdk.

We’re furthermore thrilled to announce that we have landed a gig supporting UNDEROATH at Pumpehuset, March 21st. Kick ass!!!"

Jesper's official statement:

"For the past couple of months I've felt the urge to try new stuff out. So therefore I have begun to study to become a multimedia designer. Also, my heart, so to speak, has not been with this band’s music, hence my decision to leave the band.

As We Fight have given me 2 years worth of memories that I shall never forget as long as I live. I've gotten to do stuff that some people never get to do. Great shows, great dudes, great fucking metal.

I wish Esse, Gun, MartinO, Niller and Søren "Salami" the best for the future, as a five-piece band! Be ‘shure’ to see me go nuts and sing along in the pit, in the future!

Ass-slaps and love, Jesper Vicencio Gün.”

Gun had the following to say about Jesper’s exit:

“There are no bad feelings and we fully respect his decision, Jesper is definitely still in our ‘cool book’. As We Fight will continue with the same drive and energy as always, but now as a five piece with Esse handling the vocals and the rest of us doing some backing vocals”.

That's all for now, folks."
