According to Inner West Courier, singer Dave Evans, who’s now a solo artist living in Texas, enjoys reminiscing about his AC/DC days - including that fateful day in 1972 when he saw an eye-catching classified advertisement.

“I saw an ad in the paper for a rock singer, a heavy rock singer, and it was Malcolm Young that was on the other end of the line,” he said.

“Our first gig was at Chequers nightclub which was the top nightclub in Sydney,” he said.

“To go into the studio and record - well, I’d never been in the studio before in my life, that was just so exciting as well.”

The band had instant success with 'Can I Sit Next To You Girl'. But behind the scenes things weren’t going well.
