ANVIL To Perform At Independent Spirit Awards

According to the Los Angeles Times, Canadian metallers ANVIL will perform at this year's Independent Spirit Awards, which is being held on Friday, March 5th at the L.A. Live entertainment complex near Staples Center and will be telecast live over the IFC cable channel starting at 8 p.m. Pacific time.
Anvil's documentary, Anvil! The Story Of Anvil, was nominated for Best Documentary at the event.
And there's a direct connection between the Spirits and the movie: Rebecca Yeldham, the director of the Los Angeles Film Festival (which, like the Spirits, is under the auspices of Film Independent), produced the picture.
Anvil! The Story of Anvil is directed by screenwriter Sacha Gervasi, whose previous credits include The Big Tease (co-written with Craig Ferguson) and The Terminal.
The movie features interviews with other musicians who have been influenced by the band, including Slash (VELVET REVOLVER, ex-GUNS N' ROSES), Lemmy Kilmister (MOTÖRHEAD), and Lars Ulrich (METALLICA).
The film has received praise and high acclaim in many reviews, receiving a 98% rating on Rotten Tomatoes and Michael Moore said that the movie is "the best documentary I've seen in years."
