Metal Assault's Aniruddh "Andrew" Bansal recently conducted an interview with Arch Enemy guitarist Michael Amott. The following is an excerpt:
Q: Your last studio effort of original material was in 2007 [Rise Of The Tyrant]. What's the progress on the new material?
A: "We've been writing here and there, there are a lot of ideas on various demos that we have been working, either individually or as a group. The music that we have now excites me, I can say that much! We'll get more serious about making the next record later this year and we'll release it in 2011."
Q: Angela said about the album Rise Of The Tyrant, that there was less of vocal processing and it was 'raw'. Is that the general direction you are taking for all future releases?
A: "Yes, Angela keeps developing her voice and on The Root Of All Evil she sounds really great too. You know, every album is different and I'm sure we'll all keep progressing and trying new things. But it's too early to talk about the production values on the next album."
