Earlier this week, German thrash legends DESTRUCTION announced that they have parted ways with drummer Marc Reign.

"Tour stress caused personal and musical differences, so both parties decided to go separate ways in the future," said the band in a statement.

The giant Teutonic bassist Schmier comments to BraveWords.com about the situation with a laugh: "Yes, we are very close to SPINAL TAP I guess! Nothing you can do. If a wheel is broken, you need to change it. The tank needs to keep rolling!"

In the meantime, Destruction are currently writing new material that will "go more back to the roots," says the band.

Destruction recently issued the following clip of 'The Butch­er Strikes Back', tak­en from their new DVD, A Savage Sym­pho­ny - The His­to­ry Of An­ni­hi­la­tion. The DVD in­cludes the Wack­en an­niver­sary gig from 2007 as well as an intense his­to­ry film, that takes a deep look at the ca­reer of the Ger­man thrash mas­ters, including in­ter­views with all old mem­bers!

A Savage Symphony - The History Of Annihilation DVD is already available in Europe. It will be released in North America on April 13th. Japanese, Latin America and Russian release dates will be announced soon.
