MOTÖRHEAD's Lemmy - "I Don't Want To Get Stuck With This Legend Bullshit"
March 12, 2010, 14 years ago
Crypt Magazine has issued an interview with MOTÖRHEAD leader Lemmy Kilmister. The following is an excerpt from the interview, conducted by David Necro:
Q: People call you a living legend. Is that something you like or dislike?
A: "I just think it's funny. I mean the trouble with legends is they're dead. To call somebody a legend, you need to listen to their new stuff, you know. I'm not interested in being a fucking legend. I want to be around to be competitive, you know. I don't want to get stuck with this legend bullshit."
Q: You're on an elevated popularity...
A: "Social platform shoes, but it doesn't mean anything."
Q: You're more regarded than a garage band down the street. But, maybe they can become your level of success, if possible.
A: "Sure they can. Because we were them. If we can do it, they can do it, obviously."
