Lemmy, the highly-anticipated film exploring the life and career of rock icon and MOTÖRHEAD front man Lemmy Kilmister, is to world premiere Monday March 15th in Austin, Texas. The world premiere kicks off a week of Lemmy and Motörhead events to be held during this year's South by Southwest (SXSW) Film and Music Festivals.

Lemmy was directed and produced by Greg Olliver and Wes Orshoski, who spent three years shooting the long-awaited documentary. Lemmy captures the 64-year-old embodiment of the sex, drugs and rock and roll lifestyle as he travels the globe, relaxes at home and plays to sold-out audiences from Seattle to Moscow, among several other surprises. It finds Kilmister candidly opening up about his life and career, and features appearances by such friends/admirers as METALLICA, DAVE GROHL, SLASH, OZZY OSBOURNE, Billy Bob Thornton and professional wrestler Triple H.

Lemmy world premieres Monday March 15th at 6:45 p.m. at the Paramount Theatre in Austin, and will be followed by a special Q&A; with Lemmy, Greg Olliver and Wes Orshoski.

On Tuesday, March 16, Motörhead headline Stubb's BBQ, with THE SWORD and YEAR LONG DISASTER opening. Prior to the show, at 5:30 p.m., Lemmy will participate in a half-hour Q&A; conducted by Johnny Doom of Kerrang! Radio and held at The British Music Embassy @ Latitude 30 (512 San Jacinto in Austin). Sponsored by the Home of Metal, the event is open to all registered SXSW festival goers.

On Wednesday, March 17th, the opening day of the 2010 South by Southwest Music Festival, Lemmy will be interviewed at the Austin Convention Center by longtime metalhead, author and journalist Phil Freeman. The hour-long chat will begin at 5 p.m. in Room 18ABC. Motörhead will perform later that night at the Austin Music Hall, supported by STRAIGHT LINES, MELISSA AUF DER MAUR, MICHAEL MONROE and VOIVOD.

On Friday, March 19th, Lemmy will return to the Paramount Theatre for a 9:15 p.m. screening. The official SXSW Music Festival screening will also be followed by a Q&A; with Lemmy, Greg Olliver and Wes Orshoski.

Tickets for Motörhead's performance at Stubb's are $28 and can be purchased at stubbs.frontgatetickets.com. Motörhead's performance at the Austin Music Hall is open to SXSW badge and pass holders only.

Seats for both the March 15 and the March 19 screenings of Lemmy are first-come-first-served, but SXSW Film Festival badge holders get priority seating, followed by SXSW Film Festival passholders. Individual tickets will be sold at the Paramount Theater 15 minutes prior to each screening until capacity is reached. For more information on film festival badges, visit www.sxsw.com. Fans without festival badges or passes are encouraged to get to the theater early to avoid being shut out.

The Paramount Theatre is located at 713 Congress Avenue in Austin. Box office information: (512) 472-5470.

Sponsoring each event is The Home of Metal, a digital archive offering fans from all corners of the globe to an opportunity to share their passion for BLACK SABBATH, LED ZEPPELIN, JUDAS PRIEST, NAPALM DEATH and GODFLESH, contributing stories and memorabilia by uploading images, sound files & film footage to www.homeofmetal.com.
