According to Phyllis Pollack from Examiner.com, the Grammy Museum, located at AEG's L.A. Live, will present Strange Kozmic Experience: JIMI HENDRIX, THE DOORS, JANIS JOPLIN a new exhibit that revisits the what the museum calls the Legacies Of The Artists Who Defined a Generation. Slated to open on April 5, 2010, The Grammy Museum will open its third major special exhibit, Strange Kozmic Experience. The exhibit that will be held on the Second Floor will examine the creativity, developments, legacies, and continued cultural and social impact of these artists that help define a generation, The Doors, Janis Joplin, and Jimi Hendrix.
“Forty years later, the music of The Doors, Joplin, and Hendrix still resonate in rock circles and popular culture, an enduring testimony to the power and freedom of 1960s rock,” said Museum Executive Director and music historian Robert Santelli, who previously worked with the Rock and Roll Hall of Fame. “Provocative, counter-cultural, and experimental, these artists stirred senses and celebrated personal freedom like never before, so we’re pleased to offer fans the rare opportunity to engage with them again in such a personal way.”Read more here.
