THRESHOLD's Pete Morten Comments ON POWER QUEST Departure
March 20, 2010, 14 years ago
THRESHOLD guitarist Pete Morten has issued a statement regarding his exit from the UK power metal band POWER QUEST last week. Morten joined Power Quest last year following the departure of the band's original frontman Alessio Garavello. His full statement reads as follows:
"I think it's only right that I submit just a short statement regarding my leaving Power Quest for those of you who are curious and/or interested. Basically, I found myself feeling that I was struggling to commit to Power Quest long term, long before Steve suggested that it was time to replace me. I 100% agreed with his decision. However, I thoroughly enjoyed the 3 UK tours we did together and I will genuinely miss the touring with PQ, we had a great time together and played some great shows. But, when it came to the new material I just wasn't feeling it as deeply as I should have been. I also felt and DO feel a desperate urgency to get the new 'My Soliloquy' record out this year too. Needless to say I was quite worried how I'd fit it all in.I am quite happy to admit that I'd taken too much on and now know that I am in a far more sensible position to better honour the three bands that I am in. 'Threshold', 'My Soliloquy' and 'Nightmare World' are bands that I care deeply about and I love the music so much. In all honesty I just wasn't feeling the same way regarding PQ. In different circumstances things perhaps could have been different.
In any case, I wish the remaining guys in PQ the very best of luck with Album number five and I know that Steve will do a great job."
