DEEP PURPLE Zinfandel Wine Available
March 28, 2010, 14 years ago
According to The Gray Market Report, there is a new Zinfandel wine on the market in the US called Deep Purple. Although not officially tied to the British hard rock legends DEEP PURPLE, the label's nostalgic look may seem otherwise. The wine has been trademarked under US law and there's no possible confusion between the band and the bottle.
The wine is made from fruit sourced in Lodi, Calif. It was barrel-aged for eight months and has a modest 13.6 percent alcohol. This wine sells at most retailers for about $12. It is described as a "hedonistic fruit bomb with aromas of blackberry, cherry and plum with a sprinkling of clove spice."
