THE FUNERAL PYRE Comment On Last LIGHT THIS CITY Dates
April 12, 2010, 14 years ago
Los Angeles-based metallers THE FUNERAL PYRE just completed a week of west coast shows, which started with their friends EARLY GRAVES and met up with labelmates LIGHT THIS CITY for four of their final five farewell shows (Light This City plays their last show tonight in Orangevale, CA).
As previously announced, The Funeral Pyre will release their new album, Vultures At Dawn, on June 8th via Prosthetic Records. The album was recorded by Adam Campbell at Awkward Studios, mixed by Ryan Butler at Arcane Digital and was mastered by Dave Shirk of Sonorous Mastering. Artist Justin Barlett is handling the album's artwork.
Vocalist John Strachan commented on the shows: "It was a great time playing the final Light This City shows. It's sad to say that's finally over, but we're glad we were a part of it. Good luck to all of them. We are also heading out on a summer tour with our friends in Early Graves."
Summer dates with Early Graves, as well as information on the band's CD release show will be announced shortly. The band, no stranger to the DIY metal scene with several US tours under their belt, played a batch of dates to Texas and back in mid March with LANDMINE MARATHON, which included Prosthetic's South By Southwest showcase on March 17th in Austin and a Brooklyn Vegan SxSW day party at Hoek's Death Metal Pizza.
