Tobias Sammet's AVANTASIA have entered the German album charts at #2 with The Wicked Symphony and Angel Of Babylon. Two records have been released at the same time, with a load of celebrated guest musicians like Klaus Meine (SCORPIONS), Eric Singer and Bruce Kulick (KISS), Tim Ripper Owens (ex-JUDAS PRIEST) and many more.

Tobias Sammet commented on his highest chart entry ever: “Not too bad. I mean, it could have been worse: Avantasia could have been fourth-positioned... or at #9. Or the pressing plant could have printed the wrong name on the CD. It's too dreadful to think about what could have happened if the 289 juggernauts with the first edition of the album got lost! But life doesn’t take place in subjunctive: I’m OK with being #2 in the German album charts. It isn’t as good as a #1, but a little bit better than a #3. And between you and me: This wonderful - The Wicked Symphony / Angel Of Babylon package has deserved it. All those beautiful pictures, the booklet, 22 hits, not to forget about the smashing box made of cardboard. And so on, and so forth! And of course the bunch of superb guest artists. The Avantasia albums, The Wicked Symphony and Angel Of Babylon were released on April 3rd. The albums are available as normal CDs, as two separate double-picture vinyls, and as a beautiful collector's edition with a beautiful Avantasia-picture-book.
