As reported yesterday by Billboard.com, the newly reunited SOUNDGARDEN will play its first show since 1997 tonight (Friday, April 16) at the Showbox at the Market in its Seattle hometown.

A new band update reads: "Hello Nudedragon faithful.

Please leave your camera and video recorders in the dungeon. There will be a VERY LIMITED number of tickets available. All tickets sold on line. No tickets available at the door. All tickets are will call only.

And if all this weren't enough, we will have a special edition Nudedragons t-shirt and poster available at the show and online soon."

Vocalist Chris Cornell, guitarist Kim Thayil, bassist Ben Shepherd and drummer Matt Cameron have been rehearsing in Seattle in recent weeks as a precursor to their first confirmed reunion performance at Lollapalooza at Grant Park in Chicago on August 8th.

There's no word yet if the band is planning to record new material. But on Saturday as part of National Record Store Day, Soundgarden will re-release its first 7-inch vinyl single, 'Hunted Down' b/w 'Nothing To Say', which originally came out in 1987 on Sun Pop.
