Rock n' roll website FuryRocks recently interviewed AIRBOURNE front man Joel O’ Keeffe about the band's new album No Guts. No Glory., among other topics. Excerpts from the interview are below:
FuryRocks: How did you approach the recording of this CD vs. Runnin’ Wild?
Joel : “We were more focused on capturing the energy and vibe from the room. When you hear a band live in a room its sounds great, but when you close mic them, its ends up sounding real small. For No Guts No Glory we decided to open it right up. We opened doors, drilled holes through walls and stuck the mics everywhere. Our producer, Johnny K put it altogether and got what he needed. It sounds great.”
FuryRocks: What’s the story behind Ready To Rock, why is it so hard to come by?
Joel: “Well it was the first CD we ever released in Australia and only printed about 2,000 copies. It was never on a label and we never gave to anyone to release. One day we may re-release but at this stage it’s just out there on eBay or where ever.”
FuryRocks: What does success looks like for Airbourne?
“Every day is a success when you get to do what you love and we love getting up on stage. We’ll never stop doing this. The people at the shows love rock n roll and they go crazy cheering and clapping, that’s success to. Just delivering rock n’ roll to the people.”Read the rest of the interview here.
