SATYRICON On Death Of SLIPKNOT Bassist Paul Gray - "The Down To Earth, Friendly, Unpretentious Metal Head That We Loved"

As previously reported, according to Desmoinesregister.com, Urbandale police are investigating the death of SLIPKNOT's bass guitarist at a local hotel. Paul Dedrick Gray, 38, of Johnston was found dead at approximately 10:50 AM yesterday (Monday, May 24th) by an employee at TownePlace Suites, 8800 Northpark Drive, police said. There was no evidence of foul play, police said, but the investigation is ongoing.
An autopsy is scheduled for today (Tuesday, May 25th). Toxicology tests will be done.
Norwegian black metallers SATYRICON have issued the following statement on Gray's passing:
"Today we mourn the passing of our friend Paul. The down to earth, friendly, unpretentious metal head that we loved. Our hearts go out to Slipknot, his family and his friends. May Paul have found his peace."
