May 25, 2010, 14 years ago
WAR FROM A HARLOTS MOUTH and BURNING SKIES have revealed the tracks 'A Shape Of Nothing To Come' (WFAHM) and 'Morbid Engel' (Burning Skies), taken from their upcoming split EP.
The split is set to be released on July 5th in Europe and on July 20th in North America via Lifeforce Records.
The split release will be available as CD version, limited double 7", in gatefold cover (with download card), and digital version. The artwork will be handled by well respected artist Godmachine, who already worked for bands such as DEVIL WEARS PRADA, KYLESA, BULLET FOR MY VALENTINE, CALIBAN, CARNIFEX.
Burning Skies about the split: "This is something we've been planning to do with War From a Harlots Mouth since we toured with them a couple of years back. As you may or may not know Ali from Heaven Shall Burn ghost writes and records most of the releases on Lifeforce records. This time however we thought it'd be an interesting idea to do the recordings ourselves and to write and record tracks for each other to really mix it up....however Stefan at Lifeforce heard the recordings and hated them so Ali stepped up to the task once again. I've heard from sources that the material's pretty ripping. I'll be looking forward to hearing our tracks once it goes on general release and i pick up my copy from Amazon."
War From A Harlots Mouth about the spilt: "Burning Skies have been great friends for us since a few years now and we wanted to put out a split together. We asked ourselves, why not let them write our songs for an upcoming split? we all knew they were better musicians and cooler people anyways (native English speakers!), so why should we waste our time writing shitty songs, if they can do it better? i don't know how much Ali has been involved, but as far as i know he had a huge influence on the material, so I wouldn't be surprised if it sounded a lot like heaven shall burn in the end. as much as i'm excited to finally hear the WFAHM songs...I'm afraid the songs we wrote for Burning Skies can't keep up with them, if - and only if - Ali didn't work his magic on them. We will see..."
For all die-hard fans there will be a pre order package available in cooperation with Imperial Clothing in time for the release at Imperial-clothing.com.
