Without a doubt, HELSTAR is one of the originators of American heavy metal and pioneers of the so-called Texas metal scene. Helstar is considered a true cult act and a classical heavy metal band that is still ruling stages from Texas to Europe.

Metal Blade will now release the Rising From The Grave boxset, which includes remastered versions of the A Distant Thunder and Nosferatu albums. The boxset also includes the brand new DVD, Twas The Night Of A Hellish Xmas.

The DVD was recorded live at the Backstage Club in Houston, TX on December 25th, 1989 and features original Helstar members James Rivera on vocals along with Larry Barragan and Jerry Abarca. It's the first authorized live video recording by Helstar. Mastered by Ty Tabor (KING'S X) and James Rivera.

Recorded live at the Backstage Club in Houston, Texas on December 25th, 1989, the authorized video release of Twas The Night Of A Helish Christmas is the final piece that Helstar fans worldwide have been waiting for.

Formed in Houston in the early 80's, Helstar cut their teeth playing backyard parties and small club gigs. It soon became apparent that Helstar had much more to offer then their contemporaries. Combat Records snatched up the band and released their debut, Burning Star, in 1984. Next came Remnants Of War followed by Helstar's breakthrough album, A Distant Thunder, in 1988.

The success of A Distant Thunder ultimately set up Helstar's most critically acclaimed album, 1989's Nosferatu. As proud pioneers of American power metal, James Rivera still carries the torch for heavy metal.

The Rising From The Grave boxset will be released July 2nd/5th in Europe.
