NIGHTWISH singer Anette Olzon has issued an update in regards to her previously announced new project with WITHIN TEMPTATION keyboardist Martijn Spierenburg and BLOODBOUND keyboardist Fredrik Bergh,
Says Anette, "About the project with Fredrik and Martijn, it's going forward and I have recorded one song that is with Martijn for mixing at the moment and I look forward to hearing it soon. The project album is also being discussed with record labels at the moment and as soon as we know more I promise to tell you who else will be involved, etc."
No further details on the project are currently available. Stay tuned for further updates.
In other Nightwish news, as reported earlier today, mainman Tuomas Holopaine has finished a raw demo of the band's follow-up to 2007's Dark Passion Play which features new singer Anette Olzon. Between July and September the band will reconvene at a secret location in Finland to rehearse the material together and build a final demo which will be properly recorded over the fall/winter and early spring 2011.
The as-yet-untitled new material could surface as early as September of 2011.
As previously reported, management has informed BraveWords.com that the band is investigating the possibility of starting the next world tour in Los Angeles. Plans would call for a one-off North American exclusive at the 6,000 seat auditorium within the Universal Amphitheater. This venue would allow Nightwish to bring pyro and the full production to North America for the first time. A full continental tour would commence three-four months later, tentatively billed as late 2011, or early 2012.
