LAWNMOWER DETH - Warm-Up Gig Done... Marching Onto Download
June 7, 2010, 14 years ago
Old-school British thrash metallers LAWNMOWER DETH have issued the following update:
"Well that was a corking night... to those of you who came to Harrogate and made it such a great night we salute you!Ticket sales had been a bit worrying prior to Saturday, but on the night it sold out and it was a real blast. We've not done a pub gig in many years and we had forgotten how good they can be.
The Crabtrees was and Interesting layout, and at first glance we couldn't see how it would work... mainly because the pool tables were where the "stage" is. But once we had setup and sound checked a few of those concerns faded and were soon erased once the pub filled up.
Support for the evening came from ERICBANA and SOLITARY, both were brilliant and well worth checking out! Special thanks go to Solitary for allowing us to use their cabs and drums... cheers guys, we owe you one.
Also a special mention for Mr Keith Platt... not quite sure how he gets out of the venue alive, but he's a wicked man and should be checked out if he ever comes to a town near you (cheers H!).
As for the gig... well it was great to see a load of people moshing with bits of the pub furniture, spider John crawling along the ceiling and a lot of people old enough to know better enjoying a lot of ale with their thrash.
It was also great to catch up with most of the gents from ACID REIGN again, we were only 2 members short and one of those is in our band!
Finallly a massive thanks goes to Hippy Dave for twisting our arm hard enough and putting on such a great evening... we are so glad that we did it now, cheers!
So onwards we march to Download... we can't wait and we have a few suprises in store (if we get away with it that is).
Hopefully Kev will be with us for this one... but who knows for sure!
Oh, and we have another date booked for next year already... you can be sure that this one will make a few people happy based on some forums that I've read. More on that one when we are given the green light to say more !
So hopefully we will see a few of you at Stage 3 on Friday."
