SLASH "Honored And Humbled" By Induction Into The Hollywood Walk Of Fame

As previously reported, VELVET REVOLVER, ex-GUNS N' ROSES guitar legend SLASH (real name Saul Hudson) is among a list of three superstars approved to get stars on the Hollywood Walk Of Fame released by the Hollywood Chamber of Commerce last week. Media mogul Oprah Winfrey, 30 Rock creator Tina Fey were also named.
Slash was named in in the recording category and comments: "I am sincerely honored and humbled by my induction into the Hollywood Walk of Fame. What an amazing honor! I came from the ground up in Hollywood so this is the most genuinely special distinction I could ever receive."
Slash's star ceremony will occur sometime in 2011.
Slash is best-known as the former lead guitarist of the hard rock band Guns N' Roses, with whom he performed and recorded between 1985 and 1996, he later formed the eponymous SLASH'S SNAKEPIT and co-founded Velvet Revolver with his former bandmates Duff McKagan (bass) and Matt Sorum (drums). His debut solo album, Slash, was released this past April.
