On June 14, 2010, on the occasion of the 8th Metal Hammer Golden Gods Awards ceremony at the Indigo2/O2 Arena in London, the award for inspiration was presented to TRIPTYKON singer/guitarist Tom Gabriel Warrior (formerly of HELLHAMMER and CELTIC FROST). The award was handed to Warrior by friend and peer Lee Dorrian of NAPALM DEATH/CATHEDRAL, who also delivered the award introduction.

Warrior concluded his words of acceptance as follows: "In my opinion, however, I don't deserve this award. It should instead go to TONY IOMMI, GEEZER BUTLER, ANGEL WITCH, and VENOM, artists who have inspired me and without whom I would not be here tonight."
