As previously reported MÖTLEY CRÜE frontman Vince Neil was arrested on June 28th by Las Vegas police for suspicion of DUI. He was held Clark County Jail, where his bail was set at $2,000. Days earlier (June 22nd), Neil was featured in an interview with The Associated Press to discuss his forthcoming autobiography, stating during the chat that he had stopped abusing alcohol and had been drug free for 20 years. Check out the clip below.

Neil's new solo album, Tattoos & Tequila, was released on June 4th in Europe and on June 22nd in North America. Neil recorded the new album in the winter of 2009 together with his band, formed by bassist Dana Strum, guitarist Jeff Blando (both of SLAUGHTER) and drummer Zoltan Chaney. It includes two new songs: 'Tattoos & Tequila' and 'Another Bad Day', both produced by Marti Frederiksen (AEROSMITH, OZZY OSBOURNE, DEF LEPPARD, etc.), plus a selection of classic cuts from some of the rock giants that have influenced Vince Neil throughout his musical career. The cover songs were produced by Vince and Jack Blades (DAMN YANKEES, NIGHT RANGER).

In a recent interview Vince Neil stated: “This album has nothing to do with Mötley Crüe, Tattoos & Tequila is basically my life”, and definitely the new record shows a new, yet familiar side of Vince’s abilities.

Vince spoke with English celebrity writer Robin Leach from the Lasvegassun.com at the recent opening of his Tres Rios Cantina in the Las Vegas Hilton.

“We all took time off from Mötley Crüe for our own thing, and this year was about my new CD, the new book and now Tres Rios Cantina," says Neil. "I’ve brought in some cool memorabilia off my own walls at home. My life has been tattoos and tequila. I once drank a bottle of tequila straight through while I was having a seven-hour tattoo session on my upper leg. This was the year all about tattoos and tequila for me.”

About his new solo effort Tattoos & Tequila Neil adds that "the response has been great. I really just set out to make a good-times song with Tattoos & Tequila that encompasses the rock ’n’ roll lifestyle. There’s no better way to do that than talk about two things near and dear to me: tattoos and tequila. I wanted to celebrate this great classic ‘Viva Las Vegas’ song because Vegas is my adopted hometown, but as Frank Sinatra would say, ‘do it my way.’”
