SLASH - "I Will Probably At Some Point In My Career Break Down And Sing Something"
July 4, 2010, 14 years ago
Guitar legend SLASH (VELVET REVOLVER, ex-GUNS N' ROSES) spoke with Billy Sloan from Dailyrecord.co.uk recently about his fear of singing.
"When I first started playing guitar I did sing a little," Slash reveals. "But I quickly realised other people were more capable of the whole persona of being a frontman. I didn't even sing on the demos for the album. I will probably at some point in my career break down and sing something. But this record was more of an open canvas for my favourite singers to come in and do whatever they wanted."Read the entire interview here.
Last night (July 3rd), Slash (VELVET REVOLVER, ex-GUNS N' ROSES) and his band recorded their show at Manchester Academy in Manchester, UK. The setlist on the night was as follows:
'Ghost'
'Mean Bone'
'Nightrain'
'Dirty Little Thing'
'Back from Cali'
'Beggars & Hangers On'
'Civil War'
'Rocket Queen'
'Fall To Pieces'
'Sucker Train Blues'
'Nothing To Say'
'Starlight'
'Watch This'
- Slash guitar solo -'Godfather Theme'
'Sweet Child O' Mine'
'Rise Today'
'Slither'
'Communication Breakdown'
'Paradise City'
Abbey Road Live was there to record the performance and have it mixed and mastered on-the-fly, specifically for delivery to CD – not to be confused with a “board” mix, which usually just involves plugging into the house sound console and taking their mix.
Each collectible disc set will be offered for $30 (£20) online here, or £20 at the show in Manchester. Discs may either be picked up at the end of the show, or shipped home.
In addition to Slash and Kennedy, other band members that will be featured on the CD set include Bobby Schneck on guitar; Todd Kerns on bass and backing vocals; and Brent Fitz on drums.
Pre-sales for the CDs are happening now here, and sales will only continue until all 1200 CDs are sold.
